Answer Wednesday! (Part 5)
In this segment, I answer whether Matt Barkley got his first signature last weekend at Notre Dame.

How do you see the Dillon Baxter situation playing out? If he's transferring, where do you see him ending up?
A: He will transfer, possibly to San Diego State or a Big 12 school. Of course, that could change now that schools will be calling nonstop to recruit him.

Does the Notre Dame win qualify as a "signature win" for Barkley?
A: Good question. I would say yes because any time you win at South Bend as a nine-point underdog it is huge. It could be argued the biggest play was Dayne Crist's fumble and then Tommy Rees' fumbled lateral. But I'll give Barkley the benefit of the doubt. He needs a signature win.

Which USC prospective recruits were in South Bend last Saturday?
A: Maybe the most important was offensive lineman Zach Banner. Obviously everyone knows Arik Armstead was there. And maybe most intriguing was the appearance the nation's No. 1 QB, Gunner Kiel, who decommitted from Indiana and is looking at a lot of schools, including USC.

I've got to think that if you're a QB or WR, SC is the place you want to go.
@TC, It would also seem to me, that if you are a top ranked OL, you would be drooling for the chance to get on the field as a true freshman at USC also!
If MB7's first name were Gunner, he would get more love than Andrew Luck and Tim Tebow combined.
It seems to me that if you really want to play for a winning program, USC is not the place to go, considering the decline mode USC is headed beginning this brutal weekend...I "almost" fee sorry for USC.
Signature win? Let's see, if I'm not mistaken MB7's the first USC QB to win two straight @ South Bend!
once again, bruinrob is right on. that guy can't miss.
That "signature win" won't count for squat if he lays another egg against SU. I'd rather have a QB that is consistently good than sometimes great (against meager Ds) and downright bad other times (usually against good Ds). If Barkley plays a great game against SU and the Trojans are at least in position to win it late in the 4th, that would be sweet. By the way, what is the definition of a "signature win?"
What was the score against Arizona bRUIN Slob ? How many bRUIN players suspended bRUIN Slob ? What's ucla's record bRUIN Slob ?
I thought the fake me is a Bruin fan... Am I wrong?
@Monopoly - he may be trying to pull a fast one on us. Guess what period? We're not falling for no banana in the tailpipe.
@Gnossos - Leinart won in South Bend in 2003 (the meat of the 31 point win sandwich) and 2005 (Bush Push game)
Barkley's not the first, just the latest to do in the Irish. (Leinart 3-0, Booty 1-0, Sanchez 2-0, Barkley 2-0) The only SC guy to lose to ND in nearly a decade was Arkansas transplant Mitch Mustain (and only because of a Ronald Johnson dropped pass).
@sureshot. You like bananas in your tailpipe and I'm no bRuin fan, never have been
