Here We Go Again

What is it about the end of games and Lane Kiffin? He made a foolish pass call on fourth-and-1 with 1:51 left as Matt Barkley threw an incomplete pass.
In the press conference, Kiffin complained that Barkley was supposed to throw to Robert Woods, who would then set the school record for receiving yards in a single game. It sounded like Kiffin was aware of the record and wanted Woods to get it.
Never mind that USC became an on-side kick away from being forced into overtime with that bad call.
Kiffin later denied he was trying to get any records.
``The play wasn't designed to beat the record,'' Kiffin said.

Kiffin ran up 48 points with his playcalling, and still Scott has to find something to complain about.

Scott - here is my grade for you this game: an F and a U. In that order.

And in other news, anyone see what Michigan did to Minasoda?

Its like you want to get banned wolfie. Nobody has ever called a perfect game, including PC. I have to agree with the grading here, if you were an old lady we could call you a whiny old bitch.

In other Scott Wolf breaking news, if Wolf had a date with the late Marilyn Monroe he would have called it off if he found out she had a pimple on her arm

And, come on, Trojans, you are not much better (at least the ones who have posted on this blog about the game). Talk about the cup is half-empty type of guys. I mean, SC won. Won, won, won, won, won, won.

And it was quite exciting to boot.

Oh, well, I guess I am a sick rah-rah SC guy as some have excused me of being. And they are right!

Hey Scooter....Why dont you take your Negative Nelly shades off for 2 f in seconds and go back and watch the 4th down play again. Robert Woods was WIIIIIDE open in the flat and Barkley stupidly tried to go deep to Carswell. As soon as Barkley through the ball you can see Kiffin on the sideline pointing at Woods in disgust. LANE Kiffin called a great game and for you to not give him that shows your bias against the man.

Those who have been reading this blog for several years will recall Brother Wolf's tedious griping about the dull Jeremy Bates. Now Wolf has the good fortune to be the beat reporter assigned to cover Lane Kiffin, the Coach America Loves to Hate, and he doesn't seem to be enjoying it much. Cheer up, Wolf!

The 4th and one long bomb was the dumbest call of the season. We were running at will on a team with no run defense and a first down seals the game. The team should worry about winning games instead of personal stats.

Don't question the 4th down call. It was the right call, but as usual Barkley made the wrong read at a key point late in the game and didn't finish. Tough to be hard on a kid when he throws for 468, but his constant pattern of not finishing games is alarming.
If you want to question a call, it was on 3rd and 2. After getting 5 and 3 on successive running plays and everyone in the Coliseum looking for run, why not line up in the I with an unbalanced line or three tight ends (or two and an extra tackle) and go play action to either the TE up the seam or FB/TE in the flat? Yes you need to keep the clock running and force Arizona to call another time out, but a high percentage "long hand off" would do the trick. They had 9 guys in the box!! Beat them at their own game.
