Another Notre Dame Near Miss
Since this might be the last time Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o plays USC, it is worth recalling how close he came to playing for the Trojans. A source in Hawaii wondered if it hurt USC's chances that former recruiting coordinator Brennan Carroll supposedly showed up on a home visit in flip flops? Yes, it was Hawaii. But the casual look apparently did not pay dividends when Te'o made his college decision.

I think it had everything to do with Teo's buddy being offered a scholarship by Notre Dame and not USC. Stupid, arrogant move by Carroll.
Bitter, cheap-shot Trojan beat writer and another of his secret sources (you can get them at Trader Joe's in three flavors).
If he's dumb enough to pick his school based on the coach's shoes, then I'm glad he went elseware.
Really, Scott; this is quite a reach - even for you.
You love to beat a dead horse don't you Wolf? "a source in Hawaii"...yeah right.
Te'o wanted his azz slammer buddy to come with him, USC declined to go that route so he went to the place where azz slamming is covered up.
Time to move on.
funny thing is that his buddy ended up being not too bad.
BC should have worn gray slacks, white shirt and black tie, just like all good mormons.
BC is a Mormon? I don't think so. And they wear dark slacks, not grey, get your facts straight
Hey Scotty, losing Te'o had nothing to do with Fredo Carroll wearing flip flops to the home visit. Speaking of home visits, why the hell wasn't PC there as well? This primarily has to do with money, plain and simple. Teo's buddy has a $240,000 education that he can thank Teo for, for taking him to South Bend in the first place.
It would be interesting to know what really happened. UCLA had offered his friend a scholie, which he accepted publicly on TV, although he ended up going to ND with Teo when the dust settled. Not sure if UCLA was going to honor the bud's scholie without Teo.
No self respecting Hawaiian is going to buy this flip flop theory. Hawaiians know that you take off your shoes before entering the house, and I guarantee when he did, Brennan put his flip flops next to the other dozen or so that were already there.
I've spent 1/2 of 1% of my life in Hawaii over the years, including an entire celebratory summer when I realized I was actually going to graduate from college (USC), which was not completely expected.
Hawaiians love casual, love honesty, love food, love life. I am sure Carroll going with flip flops only helped his pitch.
And I am also sure that Wolf loves how we all fall for his usual nonsensical bait. Because afterall he is getting paid for this blog with the interest from us idiots drawing in advertisements.
Maybe one of us should start up a competing blog. I mean, how much more "inside" SC information does Wolf have that some ordinary bloke could not come up with?
You can blame Robin Williams for his switch. Here's an article on how Te'o changed his mind about going to USC:

Oh yeah look who's bad mouthing "the casual look".. good ol soccer shirt and dirty jeans Scooter.. He's usually the one standing on the sidelines, sporting the garb and picking his nose and stalking the teenagers with pom poms.. LOL
Fight On
Think of all the recruits Spaulding cost us over the years!
Sureshot, that link is classic. I love this gem:
"The coach he came to Notre Dame for is gone. But Te'o sees Kelly's energy and remembers how the Irish coach said, 'What's up, brah?'"
Words can't even describe. This article makes it obvious: Teo's dad didn't want him in Los Angeles because his dad and his coach were religious nuts. Enjoy your hypocritical, self-righteous piety; you fit right in with most Notre Dame fans.
Teo: "Coach Kelly is cool. He plays a guitar and sang me Christian rock songs." If I didn't know better, I would be surprised our own little crusader didn't end up as a Domer as well. But at least he knows not to mix up his denominations!
Package deal, you had to take Toma to get Teo. Why do you think when Manti eliminated ucla, Toma's offer disappeared. Flip flops are practically the only footwear in Hawaii.
wow! the trOXans are getting angrier, bitterer, nastier!!!
wolf's daily servings of cold hard facts is making the assorted dummies, Nababs and cyber-bullies coo-coo crazy!!!
still pining over Teo??? Geez Louise, let it go!! Southern Cal was never in the running anyways!!! Vontaize and Teo were too smart to sign with a sinking ship!!
Can't believe Bucket had the balls to comment on Trojan football during a bRuin blowout, lol!!
Bucket the truth is Scott is ready to take over for skippy. Nice showing in the desert. Maybe Ruins should just shoot for probation so they don't have to long for the outback bowl every year. Are the ruins ever going to be relevant again?
