Mr. Offense
Why did Cal double-cover wide receiver Robert Woods last night? Because besides his five catches, there were nine incomplete passes thrown to him. That's 14 of Matt Barkley's 35 passes. In spite of the double coverage, Woods nearly had 2 touchdowns with better passes.

Ro Woods is da man...
What were Kiffin and Barkley thinking trying to get the ball in the hands of the best player so much. I can't wait for Scooter to be our next coach so we use talented players as decoys and put the ball in the hands of fumbling underachievers who demand playing time.
Well, Cal has a smart coaching staff. They realized that RW is 95% of the USC offense. Take him away and the USC offense goes bust. Cal would of won the game if they wouldn't of imploded and given away 5 turnovers.
Think oregon stanford and ND didn't notice this?>
There is nothing wrong with Barkley throwing cautiously when his prime reciever is double-covered. The fact Barkley or Kiffin still wanted to throw to a double-covered reciever and risk the pick that many times this last game must make the rest of the recievers & running backs feel warm & fuzzy. Kiffin's offense has become a one-trick pony against the better defenses of ND, Stanford & Oregon who are going to be lying in the weeds for this to happen against them.
