Practice Update
Lane Kiffin did not want to discuss tailback Dillon Baxter's situation today and would not say if he was suspended.
``We're focused on the guys that are here,'' Kiffin said.
The big topic today at Stanford, of course. USC blitzed more against Notre Dame but the Trojans made it clear Andrew Luck is a different quarterback than Tommy Rees and blitzes might not work against the nation's top quarterback.
Linebacker Chris Galippo said he was not allowed to discuss his apology to Notre Dame fans for his comment that the Irish quit. Wide receiver Robert Woods did not practice because of minor injuries. Kicker Andre Heidari said he felt fine today. Cornerback Torin Harris (shoulder) did not practice and there are not really signs he will return soon.

One thing you can't do with Andrew Luck is give him time. I say we blitz frequently and go man-to-man. I'd rather see him get rid of the ball quickly and risk big plays than to watch him sit back and surgically take us apart. The fact is that Stanford has a good line and for whatever reason, our D-line can't put pressure on a QB.
Spot on, Pete. Through the blitz, we can get the same amount of pressure on Luck as we did on Rees. Not a ton, but hopefully enough to cause a mistake or two.
Cover 6...

My source told me that Cal is switching to the COVER TWO for the UCLA game this week.
