Recruiting Blunder

| | Comments (8) |

With USC playing Notre Dame, it's worth remembering that the Irish's star wide receiver Michael Floyd wanted to play for the Trojans when he was an underclassman at Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Saint Paul, Minn.
So what happened? When Floyd was a senior, USC did not like his film. Remember I've written before how recruiting suffered when Coach Pete Carroll did not have a strong recrutiing coordinator to reign him in on decisions.

Yea! Carroll really sucked when it came to recruiting wide receivers.

We all understand that Carroll's last few classes were not that strong and there were several players that got away. You've posted plenty of times about losing Burfict, Teo, etc. We all know about Jarvis Jones not getting cleared and the current issues with the Armsteads. These redundant negative posts really aren't newsworthy. Please stop telling the same stories over and over, WE GET IT!!! It's one thing to try to be fair and balanced and not be a homer. It's another to make an effort to publish negative stories that are old news simply to focus on the negative.

Lighten Up!!!

I don't think losing a wide receiver has any bearing on the team. Every team loses out on a few recruits (except perhaps Alabama and Texas) but recruiting must ultimately be viewed as a big-picture kind of thing. Fortunately USC has done a good job considering the restrictions. However, over time a continued 4 or 5 loss record will diminish the teams ability to get good players.

The one thing we've been missing these last few years is elite WR's... Yep, that's it...

Yeah, right. Michael Floyd has soooo much character. Give me a break, Scott. If Floyd came to USC, Scott would be criticizing Carroll for recruiting someone that has inevitably racked up one DUI after another. If he is getting in trouble in South Bend, can you imagine the trouble he would get into in LA?

Geez Louise!!! this place is like a day care center full of crying babies!!!

why does the truth hurt so much?? do you people fall down and roll on the floor every time Spoopin' Scott blows another scandal wide open???

man up, for crissakes!! you guys are so lucky to have the best beat writer in America! now show some appreciation, before the Cadre loses their patience!!
