Money Matters

Could Matt Barkley lose money if he went pro this year?
Let's say he is the No. 5 pick. Last year, that paid $18.4 million over five years or $9 million overall at $2.3 million per year. So he leaves more than $2 million on the table if he returns to USC.
Barkley could easily make that up if he was the No. 1 pick in 2013.

Heismans are out of their cases surrounding the podium. Christmas tree is in the room. Matt is giving Trojan fans an early present.

Good thing Wolf with his mathematical capacity was not responsible for putting America into space

And what is this, Ugly Bucket is suddenly an SC cheerleader.
Perhaps there is such a thing as Christmas miracles.

I was going to stay cordial and say nothing, but since my name was mentioned, I'm forced to post my comment.

Okay, first of all, so what if Barkley comes back, how is that making USC better next year? the OLine is average with Khalil leaving, the same receivers are coming back, so at best USC might be 10-2 again. Matt Leinart came back for his senior year, and he had a so-so year with a much more talented team than the current USC team overall.

The Pac-12 will a very improved conference with many new coaches bringing in different offensive and defensive schemes, that the conference didn't have this year.

Barkley wins Heisman next year? yeah right, he had a great year this year, and throwing 7 picks or less next year will be very hard to do. He will not have the same protection next year...he won't be able to sit in the pocket for 5 or 6 seconds and throw the ball deep like he did this year, as often.

At 6'2" he won't be as big a commodity next year unless he has a better year next season...so in my view he screwed up by staying, when he could have maybe been the 2nd QB taken in the draft.

NOBS f**k you.

Ahh... Rob, still hating on Barkley after all these years? 3 years ago, you were going on and on about Brehaut was SOOOOOOO much better than Barkley, how Brehaut was going to lead the Bruins back to football dominance, and so on and so on. How'd that turn out? Let's see: Barkley: Set the Pac-12 record for TDs in a season; led a sanction-laden team to a 10-2 record and a #5 final AP ranking, and plastered the wall-climbing Bruins for 6 TDs; Brehaut: had a few starts this season, now riding the pine, and has been suspended for his team's bowl game. So excuse me if I don't take your opinion of Barkley's future too seriously.

If your posts at least had some logic and thought, even your trollish nature could be overlooked. Not everybody has to love USC, and the board is open to trolls, like you, who don't have a great.. or even just good... or even just decent... team to talk about on the UCLA board.

But your above post betrays that your trollish nature outweighs your football knowledge, and therefor your integrity takes a back seat to your hatred.

There are several posters now I just will skip over, and you have now joined that select group.
