Perry Statement
Here's a delayed statement from Nick Perry on entering the NFL draft:
``After much consideration, I have decided to forgo my college football career and declare for the draft. I have thought long and hard about this decision and I have come to the conclusion that this is the best decision for me at this moment.
``Over the years, I have matured and learned what it takes to be a Trojan and for that I would like to thank the Trojan family. I understand that I have chance at being a part of something great next season with the Trojans, but this opportunity doesn't come around every day. I am confident in my decision and I am ready for this long and hard journey in the next phase of my career.''

Deal with it, fellow Trojans: This is USC ... EVERYBODY leaves early.
We are fools to believe that we have either not yet felt serious damage from this reality ... and the worst is likely yet to come.
Can we really be living in a world in which Andrew Luck, Jake Locker, Tim Tebow, Mark Ingram (partial list) stay in school and forgo certain 1st round draft spots ... while good but not great players like Damian Williams, Jurell Casey, Stafon Johnson, almost certainly Nick Perry (partial list) flee early and headlong into sub-2nd round NFL draft status?
I acknowledge we get some players who are looking for direct entry into the big show, and that's great. But how long can this go on?
Also: Chances of Matt Barkley leaving early? 100 percent.
He's not a 1st round pick, he might be a second round pick, so where is the smarts in that?
He like 99% of the football payers on most campuses are not academic, so it's no surprise that he would leave. Is GOD telling Barkley to leave ?
Hopefully God is telling Barkley that it's not enough to just love Jesus. You have to come up with a signature move to SHOW everybody how much you love Jesus, like "Tebowing".
I say Barkley should have a trademark move where he goes "woof woof" while pointing at the sky with both hands, to be called "barking", "barkling" and/or "barks-ing".
Need the schollie. Wish dude from Detroi the best. Armond Armstead coming back? Sup with Arik?

I can't knock Nick as he is from Michigan and I am also. But honestly, someone has to get these players to stick around for more than 2 or 3 years.
1. We get the "football factory" reputation and
everything associated with it like violating rules to
get top players, etc
2. If some of these players stuck around their senior
year if would help our team out alot
3. Alot of recruits see USC as a 2 or 3 year stop
on their way to the NFL and aren't committed to USC football (vidal hazelton dillon baxter jeff schweiger)
I could go on and on but it would be nice if some administrative person or Kiffin held a team meeting a few times a year to try to show these guys the advantages of actually staying at USC for 4 years..

Of all the things that nick perry said, Fight on to victory only focuses on "long and hard" then you wonder why I think that you're such a fruit cake... unbelievable how excited you got over him saying that.
