Stat Of The Year
USC lists in its game-by-game chronology 13 ``major upsets.'' And of those 13, only 3 were on the road: 1951 (California), 1971 (Notre Dame) and 1992 (Oklahoma).
Do USC's two road victories as double-digit underdogs (Notre Dame, Oregon) qualify in this category?
After the jump is the full list of upset victories:
Occidental (1908), Notre Dame (1938), California (1942), Washington (1944 Rose Bowl), Cal (1951), Notre Dame (1955), UCLA (1960), Duke (1962), Notre Dame (1964), Notre Dame (1970), Notre Dame (1971), Penn State (1991), Oklahoma (1992).

Ah, Scooter, trolling again.....slow weekend?
here’s a better question wolfman: what program has suffered more crushing upset losses to HUGE underdogs, than Southern Cal??
’06: loss to UCLA 21 pt underdogs costs Southern Cal a spot in BCS Champeenship game!! (OUCH!)
’07: Southern Cal chokes against 41pt dogs Stanford-- knocks Southern Cal out of #1 spot, the biggest upset in history!! (OOOOF!!)
’08 loss to 30 pt dogs OR St. costs Southern Cal ANOTHER spot in BCS title game (RUT ROH!!!)
WOW! take away these crushing choke jobs and “4th and 1” and finally the cheating of Bush et al, and Southern Cal Shouldda-Couldda won SIX straight Natl Champeenships!! they Shouldda-Couldda been recognized as the greatest dynasty in the history of college football!!
however, as it stands, after all that cheating and choking, Southern Cal can claim exactly one half of a paper champeenship, from the anachronistic AP. can this be the reason for the inexplicably hostile venom and anger from the trXOans on this site??? well, can it???
Lol, this Fred guy is putting in overtime with his long posts these days. Maybe all the remarks I'm seeing about him being ugly are getting to him.
Geez C-Buck there are crushing upset losses, but we know how it feels to be favored in a game, fucla doesn't.
You can put us down, but you just can't come up with ANYTHING good to say about fucla can you. Even our girls are better looking. Hell, even our boys are better looking. OOOOOUUUUUUOOOoohoho
i believe we were favored in every game from the second game of the '03 season(after auburn) to the beginning of the 2009 season(at the horseshoe). you can't upset anyone if you're favored every game.
ucla has had some upsets since they're ususally an underdog. they should try being good for once, it's a pretty nice feeling.
Washington's Only Loss in 1984 should be on this list
Good point Sheep. You left out that the '03 game vs. Auburn was a win, as was the game at tOSU. We can throw out some of those JDB games, what was Pete thinking? He falls into the "where is he now" category (and I don't care enough to find out)...but he ain't playing Sundays.
I would include OR but not ND. OR is playing championship calibur football ND is not. If SC can string together a few more top five or top ten finishes, that game at OR will be recalled as the beginning, much like the ND game in 02.
