Like I said, Fucla will get a second rate coach. Terry D was the only class coach they've had in the last 50 years.
If this rumor is true, I think it's absurd. Petersen has proven he is worth that amount, Golden has not.
NOBS has it right... UCLA lies like a dog when it comes time to "show me the money". Dan Guerrero barked all last week about UCLA willing & able to put the money up to find the right coach. But when a candidate they seek asks for money that was reportedly offered earlier to another coach, the fat man steps back!What idiots they are over at Westwood! Of course now all the name coaches are going to ask for "that" money. DUH................ UCLA is nothing but a dog & pony show that wants everyone to think they are big time. UCLA will either get damn lucky with a name coach who can't find work elsewhere or they will settle for an assistant and make it look like they got the coach of the century. This is UCLA!
Petersen may be great coach at Podunk State Junior College, where he doesn't have to fit into an actual academics oriented school, but Al has shown he can fit into that too. Gotta be worth something.
Hey, let's be honest here. Just what meaningful things has UCLA done in football? Oh, yeah... winning its only national championship when most of us weren't even born - in the 50's. lol. Even in basketball, what have they done without that one coach who won 10 of 11 of their championships? Needless to say, the whole school and alumni are one really nostalgic and melodramatic bunch that live in the past. I mean, the past that's LOOOOONG gone. No wonder they still suck REALLY hard!!! LMAO!!!
