USC v. UCLA

Will the Bruins be able to turn any of USC’s commits? Crespi offensive tackle Jordan Simmons remains firm so far.

  1. Get real. Ellis ain’t coming to UCLA and SC can have any Bruin they want. Let’s just hope they don’t offer Ford or ANY additional ucla commits. Our best recruit, who flipped and signed with SC this morning, was “dancing in the streets” when he got the Trojan offer. What does that say about how he felt about his promise to UCLA? GET REAL. Anyone who thinks we’re going to steal recruits from USC is dead wrong. And I’m sick of hearing all these kids pretend they love UCLA. You signed with us because you didn’t get a better offer….but you certainly wish you were a Trojan. Or a Sun Devil. Or a Beaver. Or an Aztec. Or perhaps an Air Force Falcon.

  2. Damn we stole a Juco from UCLA today and landed Bowman? We ballinnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!

    LEZGO!

  3. According to scout.com UCLA is having a better recruiting year than USC so far, and this is after havin a new coaching staff, and without Mazzone and Broussard yet recruiting for the Bruins, because they are still coaching at ASU until tomorrow night. Yes there will be at least 2 or 3 recruits that flim from USC to UCLA, and we will land McCarthy, Demetrece Martin has an established relationship with the coaches at Monrovia and McCarthy’s dad…Jordan Simmons will flip to UCLA, watch.

  4. bearPussy, you coward, why don’t you use your regulard handle and stop pretending to be a Bruin fan…you sound like total queer, my guess is you’re regular handle is “How Does”.

  5. Not so fast, RuinBob, before you have those imaginary recruits sign to UCLA you’d better get Mazzone to sign. I understand he and UCLA still working out the details on his contract, and Graham is pushing hard to get him to stay at ASU. McCarthy would be a signature get for Mora if it happened.

  6. CerritosLob – The deal is Lob, you get sloppy seconds as far as football recruits go in this state. Whatever we don’t need you lap up. Hey, these kids aren’t stupid, where would you go if you were offered by USC? Go jump the fence across town and go to the movies. Laughing at you Lob!!

  7. trOJan70, each school has their own tradition to uphold, going over the wall is UCLA’s…and at least while Carroll was there, it was a practical joke, like throwing a maniquen off the roof dressed in a football uniform – pretending to be #21, I forgot his name, the RB that shared the backfield with Bush – committing suicide. I was talking to one of the former players last night, because I also critized the Bruins for it, and he the player enlightened me on why they do it, and the price the players that leaped pay the next day, through severe conditioning punishment. According to him it brings the team closer together, both in unity as they leap the wall, and in the punishment…after hearing him explain why the tradition should continue, I agree it’s totally innocent and fun, and he reiterated that these kids are amateurs, not professionals, it’s not like they’re being paid a salary to be there…so let the tradition continue, as far as I’m concerned.

  8. This came from Morgan Breslin the who signed with USC today
“The 6-foot-3, 240-pound pass rusher stunned UCLA fans by switching his commitment and signing with USC.

“It’s freaking USC,” said Breslin. “I was just in shock that they were recruiting me. The tradition, the academics … the way the just do things. To be honest, I don’t even know how to explain how excited I was to have a chance to go there.

“It’s like one of those dreams you have as a little kid, but never really think is going to happen.”

    Oops sorry Ruins

  9. Scotty W, you Can’t sign YET!

SlobDusky, “over the fence” is for pu$$ys. Oh wait, perfect stunt.

  10. Nobs
Juco’s can sign today on the line that. Is dotted. Try to follow along and ask questions if things are going to fast for you.

  11. So, what’s brewin’ today? Try my Over-the-Wall Wheat!

I mix in a high percentage of wheat relative to the barley malt, crumble up a few cookies from Diddy Riese, and then part way through I just lose interest in the whole damn process and wander off somewhere for an afternoon. Maybe I see a movie with my friends.

Anyway, the finished product may leave something to be desired, but I promise to brew better next season!

  12. Seems like all we hear from the Bruinheads the last few years is how UCLA’s recruiting class is soooooo much better than USC’s. Let’s see how that translates on the field:

    2008: 28-7 USC
    2009: 28-7 USC
    2010: 28-14 USC
    2011: 50-0 USC

Yep, you can tell the gap is closing just by looking at the scoreboard.

Here’s the thing, Rob: the “rankings” you point to are based on total points. The more recruits you have, the more points you may have. Your Bruins have 20 recruits, my Trojans have 11. Your Bruins are ranked #26 with 2148 points; my Trojans are ranked #27 with 2000 points. Your recruits average 2.85 stars; our recruits average 3.73 stars. Scroll to the far right, sort by average, and you’ll notice we are #4, UCLA is #26, based on average. So it’s all in what you prefer: quantity or quality.

  13. I also note how you post the rankings of only 1 of the 2 major scouting websites. Why would that be? Is it because Rivals ranks USC #15 and UCLA #34 (based on points) or USC #1 (3.91 average stars) and UCLA #46 (2.85 average stars). Naaaahhhhhh… it wouldn’t have ANYTHING to do with that, would it?

  14. Hey trojans, congradulations on stealing a Juco 3-star Defensive End from us. After UCLA had told him that the scholarship was going to be given to a 4-star cornerback Marcus Rios instead. My inside sources revealed that to me. Congratulations on wasting a scholarship for the sake of having one up on UCLA. BUAHAHAHAHAHA
