The only thing I ever liked about Barkley was his humbleness, but Wolf you hit the nail right on the head, I was surprised that he called a press conference to a do something he normally does, tweet.

I saw the news about Barkley staying just after 1pm, and then I went out with my co-workers for a Christmas lunch for just a couple of hours, and now I just got back and checked this blog -- and already Wolf has gone negative on this?!!

Classic for BruinRob to rip Barkley when his own UCLA quarterback was suspended from the team this week. Besides it's USC's athletic department that calls a press conference, not Barkley, you schmuck!

Yeah, he really looked like he was having a terrible time. I bet he was thinking, "this is really going to upset the Wolfman and a random UGLA troll." Fight on Matt, and thanks. As Barkley mentioned, the press conference wasn't his idea. Had he made the decision to go pro, they most likely wouldn't have made it as big of a deal. Would they bring out the Heismans for somebody who is leaving? No. But right now, he is the #1 candidate for the trophy next year. This isn't just about Barkley--the university and its community wanted to celebrate. Don't blame Barkley if you are upset about the celebratory nature of the press conference. This is a great day.

If he wanted more of a showtunes style production he should have consulted with Toni award winner Charlize Bucksh*t. That fruit boot sure knows how to put on a play!

So who's decision at the school was it? On the flip side, it was kind of nice to have some festivity since SC isn't bowling. And I love that Barkley said the the probation was unfair.

I had to listen to Barkley's speech, holding my breath, and when he said he had consulted with others and realized he was ready for the pros, my heart sunk. But then practically in the same breath, he said he was returning to SC, and I swear, I got goose bumps from my head to my toes.

@TC, Did you happen to notice that at halftime of the Las Vegas Bowl, ESPN showed MB7's presser statements, and they edited out the "unfair" comment...

Trade Tech, giving everyone "A"s without attending classes...so yeah, that definitely would not happen with a USC team.

What? we lost a key recruit to USC? you mean that awesome 3-star "white" Defensive End that is 6'3" 235lbs JUCO transfer? key recruit?? what are you smoking Jackie? from what I heard, UCLA told him that his scholarship would be given to a 4-start Safety Marcus Rios, Rios accepted, and now USC will waste a scholarship on a former UCLA recruit, just to have one up on us, BUAHAHAHAHA congratulations, considering you're 10 scholies short from the usual, I couldn't be happier. When we land Arik Armastaed and steal Jordan Simmons, or land Ellis McCarthy, then we UCLA fans will ride you like a pony.

1. Statistically, Barkley was better than Luck and played as well as him head-to-head 2 years in a row.
2. Afraid to compete with the big boys? He took on Ohio State at the Horseshoe as a true freshman; I don't think fear is an issue for him.
3. Pretty sure there are currently 3 starting QBs in the NFL from USC right now. How many from UCLA? oh, you're just judging SC on a tougher scale? Good, that's how it should be, glad you recognize that.
4. Being 6'2" won't hurt Barkley. Ask Drew Brees, who at 6'0", is a pro bowler.. has won a super bowl.. and is about to break Dan Marino's single-season passing record.
5. Oh yeah, almost forgot, ENVY ON! You, Bucket & ThaiMux (same person, different usernames) can't stand the hype and anticipation SC fans have for their team because YOURS IS TRASH. WE LOVE IT!

@Inside - Kevin Prince could probably buy Sparklett's Corporation. He comes from very wealthy family living close to campus in the city of Brentwood. Prince is about ten times tougher than Barkley, he took hits during the season that would put Barkley in a wheelchair for life.
