Recruiting is a dominant theme in this segment.

Do you find these kids committing and de-commiting comical, nauseating or both?
A: I used to find it fascinating. Now I'd say it borders on ridiculous. The idea that fans are watching these high school all-star games to see someone pick a school and then have them decommit a week later is comical. Like I said, it cuts both ways between colleges and recruits. But it does become tiresome to have recruits commit and then switch. Quarterback Gunnar Kiel's commitment to three schools (Indiana, LSU, Notre Dame) illustrated how crazy the process has become.

I won't ask how SC could have been so confident over McCarthy when even I knew he was all UCLA.... but I will ask a follow-up to my question from a few weeks ago: now that McCarthy has committed to UCLA, SC fans are pegging him as over-rated, afraid to compete etc. You know, the standard stuff. Why do you think SC fans are unable to appreciate that not everyone wants to be a Trogan?
A: I don't read message boards so I will have to take your word for it on the fans comments. But isn't it something that applies to every school? How many times have you heard UCLA fans immediately say a recruit could not get into school when they decide to go somewhere else? Fans are fans. They all have defense mechanisms they use.

Damnnnnnnnn......Pud just got taken down a peg or two. Take that pud, 6-8 and damn it feels great!
De-commits: Kids just following the example set by their coaches. Coaches who move without any consequences or having to sit out a year before they can coach at a new school.
McCarthy: I'm a Bruin fan and hope he signs on Feb. 1. Let's wait. With all the de-commits and last minute moves, wait and see is the right approach. And, recruiting class rankings are a joke. Something to make the alumni feel good. They don't always pan out.
Nice question there spedjones. Even Wolf can make you look like a douche.
" I don't read message boards so I will have to take your word for it on the fans comments"
and
"How many times have you heard UCLA fans immediately say a recruit could not get into school when they decide to go somewhere else?"
...Wolfie, your credibility is at an all-time low.
