Here's the joint announcement from USC and Stafon Johnson on the settlement of his lawsuit against the university.
``The University of Southern California and former student-athlete Stafon Johnson wish to jointly announce that Mr. Johnson has resolved his lawsuit against the university arising out of his September 28, 2009 weight room injury. The parties have agreed that the terms and details will be confidential.''

I wonder how much ThaiLadyBoy aka SlopeSpic is asking Penn State for his Sandusky shower incident. You know, the one that involved a bacon wrapped hot dug and that infamous Slap, Slap, Slapping....

NOBS - How can you call him a piece of crap? WTF? He is a Trojan that gave his all for the university and was nearly killed in a horrible weightlifting accident. Someone from USC screwed up by not spotting him correctly. He suffered catastrophic injuries and his footbally career went south. How is that his fault? I'm sure that Johnson would rather take his health and livelihood over the money.

ONCE AGAIN...trOXans turn on their own!! Stephon, their noblest warrior, badly hurt while under the control and direction of a Southern Cal employee, and they somehow despite the gross negligence, deny him his rightful medical benefits???

while this disgrace is finally put to bed, the stench of the University's greed and it's fans ignorance will linger for years.

oh how does it go??? ah yes...."trOXan for life". bah! pure horse pi$$.

Sign of the times for civil litigants-- settle your case for something rather than go for the gold with unsympathetic, unpredictable Southern California jurors. The terms were undisclosed, but you can bet SC got out relatively cheaply.

As for NOBS, methinks he likes the attention, even the negative attention, and will say most anything to get it.

ThaiMex is a hypocrite, and I don't believe anything he says the few times I bother to read him

My favorite Stafon memory was having him sweep right end to beat Ohio State. That put a lid on the obnoxious Buckeyes all about me at the stadium. It does not get much sweeter than that.

Why would you assume Stafon didn't get a good and just settlement? The kid obviously is a Trojan for life and didn't want to be vindictive to his alma mater. Fight On Stafon!

ThaiMex Author Profile Page said:

"Unsympathetic, unpredictable".....not exactly an endorsement or objective observation, but did you really expect anything else from a blood sucking ambulance chaser? What's the matter L.J., are you pissed because your "Brother Hyena", the one who represented Stefon, didn't end up with 30-40% of the award because everything was settled OUT OF COURT?
LEECH on!

Undoubtedly the issue revolved around whether Stafon was also partly to blame and whether it could be proven that his throat injury was related to his lack of success in the NFL. If there were no such issues, USC would have settled right away given the lack of other exculpatory evidence and the terrible cloud this hung on the university. Once established both parties saved legal expenses. This probably paid a couple of million to Stafon.

ThaiMex, contingency fee arrangements don't hinge on whether the case ends in settlement versus a jury award. If Stafon's attorney was working on a contingency fee basis, he still got his percentage.

Normally contingency percentages are lower on cases settled before trial and higher once a case has gone to trial because expenses are far higher on cases that get to trial. Probably one reason SC settled. So, ThaiMex is partially correct although he might have found a more grown-up way of expressing himself.

Dupe...Come on...I know you're better than that. Most of the time you hit your target....Out a Little Late last night?
On recruiting...$outhern California 2009 recruiting class was LOADED. Recruits included Jarvis Jones 4*, Frankie Telfort 3*, Byron moore 4*,James boyd 4*, Patrick hall and some guy named jason harfman (I'm PRETTY SURE I missed a couple others who didn't blossom as expected). With sanctions..what happens to DEPTH if 2012 turns out like 2009. In 2009, The Cabinet was already STOCKED, so a few defects didn't matter...today different?

Stafon had to sue USC, and settled with their insurance carrier. And SON and NOBS should sue their parents. Hope Stafon gets to follow his dream.
