Anyone else notice the lack of elite DTs and RBs on that list, especially on the West Coast? That's two years in a row...

I ,like many followers of the recruiting battle, get sucked into what each player is ranked. Its fun to say we had the #7 or # 1 class, but its at least a year or two before you know if a player really fits and lives up to their ranking.Look at Boise and other schools who many times don't end up in the top 25 recruiting, yet end up in the top 10 on the field. How many of our 5 stars in the last 5 years ended up as elite college players? probably half or less.Seems it came down to desire, and other non physical qualities.
I think now more than ever, its filling our needs, working with quality kids with great desire and work ethics ,along talent, not just the 4 or 5 star with their top 100 ranking, looking to headline.
I like the job the staff did this class, with 18 open,we will fill our needs to stay in the top twenty until the sanctions lift.

Agree with what you said. Of the 9 players listed as DTs only 3 are west of the Mississippi. And those 3 are in TX. Ed O has his work cut out for him.
Although I balance my concerns about out DT prospects with collegegame's comments, and the fact that a high school DE may turn out to be a good college DT.
