Morning Buzz

Former Penn State tailback Silas Redd arrives at USC today. Redd’s arrival means his scholarship will count as one of the three USC saved from last season, which means the Trojans can take only two players now at the midyear break.

  1. A walk-on is going to give up their schollie so Redd’s is not going to count against our current class.

  2. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Redd’s arrival has nothing to do with the amount of EE’s that can enroll. I always thought you can take as many EE’s that can qualify and they count to the following years class.

  3. Mr. Wolf,
From any of your inside sources, has Redd been admitted and housed on campus yet? will he start fall practice on Monday? A big question, what number will he get?

    Thanks

  4. one or two — depending on darreus rogers’s academic progress — former walkons’ scholarships will not be renewed.

  5. SC has 18 scholarships, 3 from 2012 and 15 for 2013. All 18 could show up early for spring ball and they would could for both 2012 and 2013. I’m also not sure a transfer counts towards these numbers, but only concerning the 75 roster number.

  6. So, Wolf made two blog posts today and both contained significant factual errors. This one regarding the # of EEs, and a subsequent post about USC’s schedule. You can count on one hand the number of blog posts in a week that Wolf does not make a mistake. Fortunately, he chose a profession that does not involve life and death. Otherwise, there would be a trail of maimed and dead bodies in his wake.
