The team’s proposed three-day trip to Mexico would be during Labor Day Weekend the first week of September, if Floyd can get approval from the university. He’s hoping to use the 10 practice days and three games against international competition to get USC’s key imcoming freshmen acquainted.
“We probably lost more scoring than anyone in the league going into next year,” Floyd said of the Trojans losing their top-three scorers — Nick Young and Gabe Pruitt to the draft, and Lodrick Stewart to graduation. “We have to figure out who our guys are. We really won’t know that unitl we get on the floor and work on it.”
USC’s highly regarded incoming class includes guard O.J. Mayo, forward Davon Jefferson and point guard Angelo Johnson.
