Have a Furball at the Skirball and attend other furry events!!
For the next few weeks you're going to see lots of shameless plugs for events benefiting organizations that are near and dear to my heart...Kitten Rescue being one of them.
Celebrate Kitten Rescue's 10th anniversary of saving cats and kittens from the streets by attending the Furball at the Skirball!! on Sept. 14, 2008 at the Skirball Cultural Center.
This "FUN"draiser (lol!!) will feature celebrity guests, cocktails and Hors D'Oevres, dinner, live entertainment, a silent auction, raffle and much more! All proceeds of the fundraiser will benefit Kitten Rescue's programs and the Kitten Rescue Sanctuary.
Tickets are $100 in advance and $120 at the door. You may also purchase an Angel Table, with seating for 10 and a promotional sign on the table. Angel Table purchasers will also receive a special mention in our Event Program.

Here's a rundown of some other furry events going on in Southern California!
LA Times journalist and animal activist Mira Tweti will discuss and sign her book "Of Parrots and People" as well as "Here, There, and Everywhere" at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 24. Mira is known for exposing the Parrot Trade and has won countless awards including the Genesis Award from the Humane Society. Her love for parrots and all animals is truly relevant in her children's book, "Here, There, and Everywhere: The Story of Sreeeeeeeet the Lorikeet." Heck, you might even get the chance to meet Sreeeeeeeet (heh! I just rhymed) live and in the flesh!!!
