adoptions: July 2008 Archives
Guess I jumped the gun when I posted this! I just got notice that Ozzy the beautiful German Shepherd has been adopted even before I posted it. There was such a large response to the emails that someone stepped forward to save this dog from death row.
Have a great time in your new life Ozzy! :)

I try and be very diligent in posting things like this and making sure all the information is correct. And yes! This is for real. Scrappy, the 3-year-old pitbull in this photo, desperately needs a home. As you can tell he is a very sweet dog...even to the Chiuauah (they are best friends I'm told). The owner must find a home for him, otherwise he will be sent to the pound. I'm told that the dog is very sweet, loves kids of all ages (has even been raised with them), has NOT been abused and is very innocent. I won't get into the reason's why she's giving up this cute dog. Let's just say that it's heartbreaking.
He is current with all shots and records, is medium size and is a looks like a healthy 3-year-old puppy.
So if you're looking for a wonderful family dog please call Debbie Trejo of at (818) 357-3891 or email her at debbie@k9compassion.org and she will get you in touch with the owner. You may also visit her Myspace page here.

I just had to post this photo because this dog bares an uncanny resemblance to my old dog Sasha. And of course I am very partial to Samoyedes because of it. I hope this guy got a home!
Daily News photographer Andy Holzman captured several great moments at this weekend's Pet Adopt-A-Thon, which was held at six Los Angeles pet shelters. Check out more photos here!

Lilly just chilling in her new home!
Photo provided by Eve Bielecki
Remember THIS POST? Well Lilly the spunky cat finally found a home with Kitten Rescue volunteers Bob and Eve Bielecki. They decided that they would try taking her in despite the fact that they have four other cats. Mind you Lilly's profile said that she prefers to be alone. Well it seems like Lilly is having a grand old time and is even getting used to the other cats. This is proof positive that an animal's true personality cannot be determined from seeing them in a cage on display at a pet store. Eve had this to say in an email!
"Her personality is totally different from the Lilly I knew at Petsmart...super affectionate and playful. She follows me like a puppy around the upstairs, and is finally getting the idea that all my other cats (4) are pussies."
So there you have it! Here's yet another cat that was thought to be "unadoptable" but with a little patience and understanding for the animal, she has been deemed to be one of the most affectionate cats anyone could ever know. I already knew that when taking care of her at the rescue. Have a good life in your new home Lilly!!!
