Something to make you dance!!

| | Comments (4) |

After the somewhat disappointing weekend I had, the following video is a nice diversion. Also I have another vet appointment with Marcie today. Keep her in your prayers because she hasn't pooped again since Friday. I'm really trying to figure my way around this constipation problem. It will work out...I just don't know how. Guess I just have to keep on it!!

I was supposed to run the Pasadena Marathon this weekend but as you know that's been postponed...or canceled...not sure yet. At least I have today and tomorrow off (yeah you're asking why I'm posting here...BECAUSE IT'S FUN!! heheh!!)

Anyway...a friend of mine emailed me this funny video and I thought I'd share. Get up and dance with the animals to "Lady Marmelade!!"

Something to cheer you up! It's the puppy cam!

Stemming from the last, very sad post...here's something to cheer everyone up! It's the live streaming puppy cam!

Weird First Pets

| | Comments (0) |

seal_med_png8.JPG
I was just thinking about what I should write that's pet and election related when I got an email from petplace.com that discusses the top weirdest presidential pets.

Here's some info from the email. Can you match the president with these bizarre pets? Here's the list of very strange pets:

  1. Pygmy hippo
  2. Alligator
  3. Elephant
  4. Zebra
  5. Antelope
  6. Bear
  7. Coyote
  8. Hyena
  9. Tigers/lions
  10. Wallaby

Try and match the list with these past presidents:

  • Calvin Coolidge, 30th President
  • John Quincy Adams, 6th President
  • James Buchanan, 15th President
  • Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President
  • Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President
  • Martin Van Buren, 8th President
CLICK HERE for the answers and some other interesting presidential pet anecdotes.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt's beloved terrier Fala!

HERE's a nice bio on Fala!

And if you want to learn even more and then some about all presidential pets, visit...WHAT ELSE? www.presidentialpets.com and www.presidentialpetmuseum.com.

Heheh! If...ahem..WHEN Obama wins...I can't wait to see who and what the next presidential pet(s) will be! Okay I know it will be a dog...but you never know! They might fall in love with this dog so much that they might just acquire a menagerie of critters.

btw...please disregard the political ads on some of the websites. This is a presidental pet post...not an avenue to push anyone's political agenda...LOL!!! But I am telling you to JUST GO AND VOTE!!! PLEASE!!!

INTRODUCING THE DICE GAME PEOPLE AND CATS PLAY TOGETHER

Darf is challenging the expression "You can't herd cats!" Heheh!! oh yeah!! WATCH THIS CLASSIC VIDEO!! In all seriousness...I'm not sure if it would work with Hershey and Marcie. Although it doesn't hurt to try. They're still obsessed with that crazy cat dancer thing...heheh!!

According to the information I got:

CatFeats is a new dice game for people and their cats to play together... With CatFeats, people compete to see who is best at getting a cat to complete fun activities like the "Shake Hands," "Wiggle Your Ears" and "Take A Bow." Okaaaay...they really don't know my cats...hah!!!

CatFeats is a totally different way for cats and people to have fun together. Players roll the paw print die and have one minute to coax their cat into performing tasks on the matching paw print card. Players can use their voice, treats, toys and gestures to get their cat to complete the activity and earn the points (guess I'll have to go out and get more Feline Greenies!!!). First player to score 30 points wins the game!

"Before we played CatFeats, we didn't think our cats could do tricks. Now, game night at our house includes our kitties," says Denise Rothman, Darf president.

CatFeats can be played by two to four people and one to four cats. It comes with a paw print die, a sand timer, 30 activity cards, a score pad and a pencil. No skill is needed to play. The game is available at select pet boutiques, pet stores, game stores, gift stores, online pet stores and at darfinc.com.

Darf is a specialty pet company that creates games for people and pets to play together. For more information about Darf pet games including CatFeats visit www.darfinc.com.

Guess who I'm voting for on November 4!!

Carry your bird on your back

bird carrier.jpg

Besides babies and small furry animals, you can now travel easily with your bird...yes your bird. I know someone that would love something like this (he's got at least 15 birds). Now...just like your dog or the occasional cat (yes some cats like to go places), you can take your bird to the park or the veterinarian with ease. Now I'm not so sure if taking your bird to the park is a good idea. He/she might get upset because they'll completely envy all the wild birds out there that get to fly free. I can just picture a bird inside of this thing wishing he were up in the trees. But if you think your bird would like something like this, you can buy it for $29.99 at Doctors Foster & Smith.

Now I've seen it all: cat edition!

cat butt.jpg
Here's yet another entry in the now-I've-seen-it-all category. I was looking at The Pet Blog yesterday (can you tell it's one of my favorite blogs?) and came across something about the Cat Butt Museum! Now I know it's not in the Valley but you can at least go to the website and check out the exhibit of paintings, drawings and pictures of kitty posteriors.

Now I'm sure you've all seen those Cat Butt refrigerator magnets and stickers (in fact I've got a set of my own, given to me by a friend...LOL!!), but some other things that I came across really got me howling with laughter.

Need a new pencil sharpener? Get yourself a black or white cat pencil sharpener. Now I'm not even going to discuss this. The picture speaks for itself. This product must be extremely popular since it is currently unavailable at the museum's online store and amazon.com. Oh wait! I just found it here!. Get it there for $14.99. But if you want to get it on amazon.com or the museum website you're just going to have to wait. Not sure if the person that invented this likes cats or not.
catbuttsharpener.jpg
And OMG it comes with a kitty litter box that collects the shavings and the kitty meows when you...ahem...use the sharpener for it's intended purpose. Check out this demo!

Now I hope PETA doesn't come after me. I myself am kind of weirded out by this product too even though it's a crazy novelty item. So please...DON'T DO THIS TO YOUR REAL CAT!! Just had to specify that.

Now if you're not into crazy pencil sharpeners but like anything to do with cats and their posteriors, here's a unique towel holder. Now wouldn't that look cute right next to your bathroom sink? It's available pretty much anywhere for $19.99.

Make your idog happy with music!

| | Comments (0) |

iDogClip_04_O.jpg
Here's yet another whacky item. If you're a dog lover you can now own an idog!! Or if your not into the full idog you can get an idog clip. It kind of reminds me of those Japanese Tamagotchi pets that you have to keep alive except this requires you to hook your idog up to music to keep it happy. Take the idog clip with you wherever you go. It's mood depends on how much music you play and the type of music you play. Hook it up to any mp3 or ipod player and you're good to go!!

Yeah I know this is not really pet related but look how cute it is!! Heck you can at least treat it like a dog by giving it lots of love via music. And look at those ears! Okay back to the insane asylum now...LOL!!!

Check out a video of the i-Dog Clip here and boogie to the music with the 3rd Generation Tattoo i-Dog here!

Hair hats! Get your Hair Hats!

Here's yet another entry in the Now-I've-seen-it-all category! HAIR HATS!

hairhats.jpg

Haven't you always wanted to morph your hair into the head of your favorite animal? Well now you can make it look like a professional stylist transformed your hair into the shape of an elephant, a lion, a bear, and even your favorite dog breed. And I wouldn't be surprised if the artist comes up with house cat breeds as well.

These hats are made of real hair and are an art project created by Japanese artist Nagi Noda.

I don't know what to think of these. While they are very bizarre, they're also intrigueing. Of course you'd never catch me wearing those things but it just fascinates me as to who would and what prompted the artist to create such a thing. They definitely had too much time on their hands.
