Do you need extra incentive to watch this year’s Tournament of Roses Parade?
If you’re an Inland Empire resident, here it is:
The televised parade, on the morning of New Years Day, will include a horse-drawn fire hose wagon built in 1890 for the San Bernardino Fire Department.
The wagon, which now belongs to the San Bernardino Historical and Pioneer Society, is one of three antique firefighting rigs appearing in the California State Firefighters’ Association parade entry, which is No. 35 in the parade lineup.
Riding in the wagon will be San Bernardino Mayor Patrick J. Morris, San Bernardino City Fire Chief Michael J. Conrad, and San Bernardino County Fire Chief Pat A. Dennen.
