Underdogs can win, too

A couple of things …

The intense concentration on schedules and which is weak and which is
not, which prepares a team better for league play and which does not,
apparently tends to obscure several important facts.

If a team is favored over another and defeats that team, at least
acknowledge the accomplishment, even if the victory isn’t as onesided as
expected.

In case the team expected to win doesn’t, be careful in evaluating
why. It doesn’t necessarily mean the favorite played poorly. Conisider
that the underdog wanted to win, too, and that unexpected, even
unexplained circustances may have contributed to the outcome.

This is not meant as an alibi but rather to interject some reason and
consideration into what often becomes personal in blog discussions.
