Area teams advance by the bunch

Six area teams played second round games Friday night in the CIF Southern Section postseason tournament.

Five of them won, and the only area team that lost, California, lost to another area team, La Habra.
And the wins were decisive, nothing cheap about any of them.
An impressive showing to say the least.
La Habra 35, California 12. Highlanders jumped on top with 14 points in their first two possessions and 4:17 of the opening quarter and never looked back.
Santa Fe 43, Alhambra 7. Chiefs led, 14-7 at halftime, then rode Angel Molina’s 9 for 10 passing for 200-plus yards.
Schurr 38, Westminster 8. Spartans not flashy, just efficient, and may not have played their best game yet.
Whittier Christian 40, Saddleback Valley Christian 13. Next up, unbeaten St. Margaret’s, the Division’s No. 1 seed and a 35-0 winner over Lucerne Valley.
St. Paul 13, Mira Costa 7. The Swordsmen keep proving they can find a way to win, this time it was in overtime. Definitely the area’s little train that could.
Anyone have any comments on these?
