California High’s football program received good news early this morning
when the report on running back Matt Urquiza’s ankle was “not broken.”
It was determined to be a “high ankle sprain,” and although he is
definitely out of the Pioneer game tonight, he’ll be “monitored closely
throughout next week” in practice and could be available for Friday’s
game against Santa Fe. Urquiza suffered the injury during the third
quarter of last week’s victory over El Rancho.
