Schurr win over Montebello followed by brawl

Spokespersons from Montebello and Schurr High Schools contacted Monday would not discuss the brawl that took place following Friday’s Almont League football game
between the two schools. Schurr won the game, 28-18. The fracas began at the end
of the postgame walkthrough’s regular routine of players shaking hands. According to several witnesses, it began with comments made by players that led to punches being thrown and players swinging helmets. Members of the schools’ administrations were on site and were observed attempting to break up the melee. There was no initial report of any
serious injuries.
