Wilson Leaves Glenn

As was rumored here earlier on the blog, John Glenn High School head football coach Anthony Wilson officially resigned his post at Saturday’s Glenn Football Banquet.

The rumors that Wilson is on his way to St. Paul are also true, although it is not known under what capacity he will serve.

When asked about his future role at St. Paul, Wilson said he would soon comment but was unable to do so at the present time.

Wilson is a 2001 St. Paul grad and played inside linebacker and offensive guard for the Swordsmen. He then moved on to the University of Redlands, where he was a defensive lineman and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Wilson coached Glenn for two seasons, posting a 9-11 overall record while his team just missed the playoffs last year.

While his record may not look too sterling, it’s certainly better than the Eagles’ 3-17 mark the previous two seasons under Ken Mason.

Interestingly enough, Wilson will remain as the Glenn boys soccer coach for the rest of the year.
