Aguilera gets BIGS call

In case anyone happened to miss it, former St. Paul High standout Anthony Aguilera (class of 05) recently signed a free agent contract with the Colorado Rockies organization.

Aguilera admitted he was “devastated” after not being taken in the 2009 Major League baseball draft in early June while five of his San Jose State teammates were selected.

However, the 23-year-old catcher is relieved to get a chance to continue his baseball playing career and looks forward to reporting to spring training in Tucson on March 1st.

While this may be Dodgers and Angels Country, there’s at least one other club to keep an eye on.

Congratulations Anthony.
