One of the most celebrated runners in Whittier High School history, senior Christine Cooperstein, has decided where she will do her running over the next four years.

The reigning Daily News Girls Track Athlete of the Year has committed to UC Santa Barbara.

Cooperstein, who was also the 2008 Daily News Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year, plans to sign her letter of intent on the Whittier campus on Friday at 3:15 p.m.
