4 BYE
5 at California
6 vs. San Gabriel
7 vs. Bell Gardens

10 at Keppel

Gonzalez (head coach and running backs coach) will be assisted by Peter Gonzalez (offensive coordinator and quarterbacks and wide receivers coach), Eric Gonzales (defensive coordinator), Gary Canales (offensive line), Matt Seanez (offensive line), Mike Dezire (defensive line), Butch Rodriguez (defensive ends), Kevin Rivas (defensive back and special teams coordinator

Commentary: Did coach know something we didn’t know well in advance? Montebello scheduled two games versus Mid-Valley Divisional powers in Rosemead and Arroyo and then the Almont League gets moved into the same division. Interesting. But all joking aside, the Oilers have a solid preseason against five playoff teams. One of the bad things about the change in division is that now only two teams from the Almont League are guaranteed playoffs spots. It’s hard to envision the Oilers finishing in the top 2. I don’t think they’re there…yet. I wish them the best of luck.
