Commentary: Sorry DRL fans, I think the Mayfair-La Mirada Suburban League baseball game is the biggest of the day. The showdown hasn’t lost any luster despite the recent ousting of Monsoons coach Mike McCurdy (Roger used to say he was a dead ringer for Sparky Anderson). However, I’m interested in Cal vs. El Rancho for numerous reasons (one that I will be posting in a while). Santa Fe and Whittier is also big because each is battling for a playoff spot. The same could be said in the Freeway League battle for third place between La Habra and Troy. As for softball, that game is also as huge as any baseball game as the Mats and Monsoons meet for the first time this year.
