I don’t remember the last time I’ve been as excited about a preview as I am over the release of the tomorrow’s inaugural Whittier Daily News Prep Extra Magazine.

The story format hasn’t changed. We’re still doing individual previews on each of the 13 local schools. However, we’ve added a Daily News Preseason All-Area Team and Top 5 QB’s, WR’s and RB’s (I apologize defense but we had to cut a story on the 5 best defensive players for spacing issues).

Gracing the cover are cover boys Jeffy Worthy of Whittier Christian and Isaac Luatua of La Mirada. Both are long-time buddies who once dominated as teammates. The info is a bit dated as all the stories were turned in a few weeks back. So, there is no notice of St. Paul’s recent issues or of Drake Griffin at La Habra or Mark Arce from California. That’s just the way it goes with magazines. Anyway, I hope you find it a valuable resource and pick one up tomorrow at a local newsstand.

The magazine will be included in tomorrow’s paper. If you go to the newsstand, it will cost you 50 cents. Or you can stop by the WDN office and pick up a copy or copies for 54 cents each (sorry, we have to charge tax inside the office).
