Some Big News Over the Weekend: Aaron Porter Commits to UCLA

Our UCLA reporter Jon Gold broke the news yesterday that reigning Daily News Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Porter verbally committed with UCLA on Monday afternoon.

Porter is 6-1, 235-pound linebacker from La Habra and was an absolute beast last year.

Porter led the area with 156 tackles, 22 of which were for a loss, and 11 sacks. He was both the CIF-Southern Section Southwest Division and Freeway League Defensive Player of the Year.

Porter’s best game may have come in the Highlanders’ 35-26 win over Tustin in the divisional championships in which he finished with an amazing 22 tackles.

Kudos and congratulations to Aaron.
