Montebello football coach Pete Gonzalez announced some exciting news for the Oilers program this week. Gonzalez said that former Wilson football coach Brian Zavala has joined his staff at Montebello.
This is a good pickup for the Oilers. Zavala, while at Northview, was one of the top defensive coaches in the Valle Vista, and perhaps the Mid-Valley Division. He played a big part in the Vikings winning two VVL titles in three seasons.
The Oilers open their season tonight at Los Angeles Roosevelt.
