Mats’ Anthony Cerillo receives offer from Colorado

The Division I scholarship offers just keep on rolling in for the La Mirada football team.
Offensive lineman Anthony Cerillo is the latest to receive interest from a NCAA FBS program, getting an offer from Colorado of the Pac-12 Conference.
Cerillo is the fifth Matadore to receive a FBS offer. The others are linebacker Koa Kaleopaa, who has nine, including Cal, Arizona and Mississippi; offensive lineman Spencer Ueli Fa’atoalia, (Hawaii, Nevada); tight end Tyler Luatua, who has 18 offers, including UCLA, Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State and Oklahoma, and quarterback Kevin Dillman, who has eight offers, including UCLA, Florida State, Colorado and Mississippi.
La Mirada was 8-5 last season and advanced to the CIF-Southern Section Southeast Division semifinals, losing to champion West Covina. The Matadores open the season Aug. 24 with a home game vs. area stalwart St. Paul at 7 p.m.

    The La Mirada o-line is stellar, and will test the St Paul defense. The Matadores, however, have no answer for Scoby, who will run wild in their secondary all night. Scoby is, in fact, the reason to buy a ticket to this game…the kid is downright sensational. St Paul by 25.

    @Key to the Game,
    Huh? Even Chris Johnson needs an OL.

    Many of Scoby’s doubters have not seen him perform. The Swordsman o-line is completely capable of giving him the creases needed for sizable gains up the middle, but this guy gets to the ends so quickly that all the Matadores’ defense will be able to do is watch and wonder what happened. Either you haven’t seen SP OL or you’re a SP homer in denial. La Mirada by 14.

    @ THE PIT BOOM:
    Is that why so many have left the school, parents are unhappy, and some at the school question the hire?
