The road to the CIF State wrestling championships kicks into high gear as area athletes compete in this weekend’s CIF-Southern Section individual championships.

The divisional meets are scheduled for today and Saturday at six venues. The medal rounds are slated for 5 p.m. Saturday.

The top five of each of 14 weight classes advance to next weekend’s CIF-SS Masters Meet at Temecula Valley High School. The state meet is slated for March 1-2 at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield.
