El Rancho High School’s Julian Vizcarra and Santa Fe’s Amanda Flores were each named the Daily News athletes of the week.
Vizcarra played a key role in helping the Dons finish in second place at the Righetti Tournament. He pitched a complete game four-hitter in leading El Rancho to a 5-1 victory April 3 against Buhach Colony. Vizcarra struck out four and allowed no walks.
Flores helped lead the Chiefs to a doubleheader sweep of Downey on April 2. Flores went a combined 4 for 6 with two RBIS and two runs scored during the doubleheader. The Chiefs won the two games by scores of 4-3 and 7-4.
