Santa Fe grad wins a second NCAA wrestling crown

Two-time CIF State wrestling champion Joey Davis Jr. is now a two-time NCAA champion as well.
Davis, a 2012 Santa Fe High graduate, recently claimed the NCAA Division II national title at 174 pounds for Notre Dame College of Ohio. Davis, who won the 165-pound title last season, is 72-0 in his first two seasons.
Notre Dame also won the team title, totaling 99.5 points. Two-time defending champion Nebraska-Kearney finished a distant second with 64.5 points.
