After what seemed like awfully long nonleague schedules, the Del Rio and Freeway leagues will open play this week.
La Serna, ranked No. 1 in the area, will visit Pioneer at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday in one DRL opener. Whittier will host Santa Fe in another opener and Cal will visit El Rancho in the third.
La Habra opens Freeway League play with a tough week, visiting Fullerton on Tuesday and Sunny Hills on Thursday.
Whittier Christian will open play in its own tournment this week, hosting Long Beach Wilson on Wednesday and El Segundo on Friday.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart, which is unbeaten in the Camino Real League at 5-0, will play in the Las Vegas Tournament this weekend.
