La Serna’s softball team scored 10 or more runs for the sixth time this season Tuesday, beating Pioneer 13-0 in five innings in the Del Rio League opener for both.
Taylor Becerra and Molly Bourne hit home runs for the Lancers (13-1, 1-0), and La Serna finished with 14 hits off a pair of Pioneer pitchers. It scored at least once in each inning, and invoked the mercy rule in the fifth with four runs.
La Serna has won 13 in a row and is ranked No. 1 in CIF-SS Division 3.
