Last week’s loss to Whittier cost La Serna it’s No. 1 ranking in this week’s CIF-SS Division 3 poll.
The Lancers fell from first to second in the poll released Monday, replaced by Burbank. La Serna, which had won 16 consecutive games, is now 19-2 overall and 5-1 in the Del Rio League. St. Paul is ranked No. 5 in Division 3.
La Serna plays Santa Fe on Tuesday and will visit Cal on Thursday, likely with sole possession of first place at stake.
A victory over Division 1 Rosary last week propelled La Mirada to a tie for 10th in the Division 2 poll.
