The boys tennis teams from La Serna and Schurr have advanced to Friday’s second round of the CIF-SS playoffs.
La Serna, the champion of the Del Rio League, will host Chino in Division 5. The Lancers opened the playoffs with a 17-1 rout of Ganesha. Schurr will also host a second-round match Friday when it welcomes top-seeded J.W. North in Division 4. The Spartans opened with a 12-6 victory at St. Bonaventure.
Cal, El Rancho and La Mirada were all eliminated. Cal lost to Summit 11-7 in the first round in Division 5, while El Rancho and La Mirada lost in wild-card matches.
