Eleven San Gabriel Valley area teams are ranked in the CIF-Southern Section preseason volleyball poll, led by Whittier Christian.
The Heralds, who won a division title last year, are ranked second in Division 2AA. They defeated Mayfield, which earned a No. 3 spot. South Torrance is No. 1. Also ranked in the division is South Pasadena (seventh) and Pasadena Poly (10th).
There was no Division 3 poll.
In other divisions:
Division 4AA: St. Paul is fourth.
Division 1AA: Flintridge Saced Heart is in others (13th).
Division 2A: Arcadia seventh and Glendora eighth.
Division 4A: Duarte is second, Gladstone third and Azusa fourth.
Division 5AA: San Gabriel Academy is seventh.
