Olympic League girls volleyball teams appear to still have a long way to go to catch up to Village Christian High School.
The Crusaders, who played for the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA title last year and are ranked second in the current poll, scored their second consecutive league sweep Tuesday evening.
Village (11-4) defeated highly regarded Maranatha in three games last week and made easy work of host Whittier Christian (17-4), the eighth-ranked team in the CIF-SS division, on Tuesday. The Crusaders scored a 25-11, 25-18, 25-18 victory.
