— Valerie Alvarado threw a complete game shutout and hit a solo home run to lead the Matadores to a 1-0 victory over Norwalk (13-6, 7-3). Alvarado struck out 13 batters and only allowed two hits before hitting her home run in the third inning for La Mirada (10-12, 4-4). Breanna Vasquez struck out 11 batters for Norwalk in the pitching duel.

Wednesday Recap: St. Bernard ends Whittier Christian’s run at the St. Paul Tournament

— St. Bernard (9-6) claimed the St. Paul Tournament title with a win over the Heralds (12-6). Trevor McGee, who was named to the all-tournament team, went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Whittier Christian. Damon Holm had a two-RBI double for the Heralds as well, and his teammate Mike Rubio joined McGee on the all-tournament team. The Heralds won four games in a row to reach the title game.

Friday Recap: Trevor McGee supplies offense and pitching in Whittier Christian’s win over Maranatha

— Trevor McGee controlled the game both at the plate and on the mound for the Heralds to defeat the Minutemen in an Olympic League contest. McGee gave up just one hit over five shutout innings and also went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI. Brett Greene came in for the final two innings of relief, holding Maranatha (5-4, 1-2) hitless with three strikeouts to complete a one-hit shutout. In the fifth inning, Matty Salas hit a bases-clearing double for Whittier Christian (8-4, 2-1).

Friday Recap: California boys basketball gets 18 from Anthony Rodriguez in win over La Serna

— The Condors ended the reglar season with a Del Rio League win over La Serna (10-16, 2-8) to claim second place in the league, while Pioneer came away with the title after defeating El Rancho. California (16-10, 7-3) was led offensively by Anthony Rodriguez, who had 18 points, and Isaiah Martinez finished with 14.

Friday Recap: Montelongo duo leads Whittier Christian to 4-0 win over Village Christian in girls soccer

— Natalie Oronoz and Fatima Montelongo each scored two goals to lead the Heralds to an Olympic League victory over Village Christian. Camilla Montelongo assisted both of Fatima Montelongo’s goals for Whittier Christian (10-7-2, 3-1-1). Makenna Fuehrer assisted Oronoz’s second goal.
San Marino 4, La Canada 0 — Kelly Crowley had two assists and a goal to lead the Titans to a shutout victory over La Canada. Brooke McCloskey scored twice for San Marino and Zoe Chang scored the other goal and Mandy Hsu had an assist. Marlena Martinez had five saves for the shutout. La Canada’s Kaitlin Corral had 10 saves.
Flintridge Sacred Heart 2, Notre Dame 1 — Nia Harris and Amethyst Trang each had a goal for Flintridge Sacred Heart, leading the team to its third league victory this season, defeating Notre Dame.
