YUCAIPA - Auditions for the Tony-Award winning Broadway musical "Camelot," the
story of a young king, his beautiful wife, and a love-struck knight, will be held at Yucaipa Little Theatre on Mon., April 6 and Tues., April 7 at 7 p.m.

A favorite of late President John F. Kennedy and an indisputable hit
on stage, "Camelot" is the timeless story about the rise and fall of a
great kingdom. Arthur, king of the England, has gathered the best
knights in the world at his famed round table.

He finds a kind and loving wife, Queen Guenevere, and a best friend in Lancelot, his
treasured knight. When Lancelot becomes Guenevere's lover, the kingdom begins to crumble and Arthur finds his dreams shattered.

The cast is modest in size and Ken Corona, director, is looking for strong singers. "There are three main characters and the supporting cast has very solid parts as well."

Yucaipa Little Theatre staged Camelot nearly a decade ago and, according to Corona, "There has been a lot of interest from members and supporters to see it again and we're excited to have this opportunity to put it on."

Some of the songs that make the show so memorable include "Camelot,"
"Before I Gaze At You Again," "If Ever I Would Leave You," and "I
Loved You Once In Silence."

The show will run three weekends from May 28 to June 14, 2009. Please come to the audition prepared to sing an a cappella musical selection of your choice. For more information, contact Ken Corona by calling the theatre at (909) 790-1884.
