Long Beach-based Beachwood Brewing, which began in Seal Beach, is now in discussions to expand even further south to Hungton Beach.
The Inland Empire now has a combo beer bar/bottle shop, a la the Select Beer Store in Redondo Beach.
The Beer Room opened last weekend in Grand Terrace and is hosting a grand opening today (August 7) and Saturday (August 8).
The Beer Room offers 10 taps of draft beer, and a smallish selection of bottles to choose from, which you can either enjoy at the bar or take home.
The beer selection will change as kegs are emptied and as bottles leave the shop.
Whatcha got planned for this afternoon…nothin’?

Pouring: Makeout Session, L.A. Saison, Coffee Porter, California Love, and Smoked Smaug Lager.
In anticipation of Sunday’s (April 6) fourth season premiere of “Game of Thrones,” Brewery Ommegang has released the third in its series of beers tied in with the fantasy drama.
Fire and Blood is a red ale brewed with rye and spelt, with ancho chilies providing the “fire.” Alcohol by volume is 6.8%.
The limited-edition brew is available in 750 mL bottles. For you collectors out there, the brewery is producing the beer with three unique labels this time around, each depicting a different dragon from the show.
You should be able to find it where you normally shop for craft beer, but smaller liquor stores appear to be selling out quickly.
Here’s the menu.

Torrance’s Strand Brewing Co., (above) is among the stops for a free South Bay craft beer shuttle. Will third time lucky prove the charm for a South Bay beer shuttle connecting local craft breweries and other watering holes? We’ll find out when the service starts on Thursday evenings twice a month later in January. (Photo courtesy of Jaimie Lavally)

Local breweries are pitching in to help the less fortunate this holiday season.
We’ve spotted a few around Southern California that are collecting food and toys, and offering incentives to help sweeten the pot.
Their campaign runs through next Saturday (December 21), so get to the toy store and stock up!
