A.J. Barile’s hosting fundraisers for Jeremiah MacKay’s family

Award-winning pizzeria A.J. Barile’s Chicago Pizza is hosting several fundraisers for the family of San Bernardino County sheriff’s Detective Jeremiah MacKay, who recently died in the line of duty.

One has already begun. Now through March 31, for every medium and extra large pizza purchased, $2 will be donated to MacKay’s family.

Also, 10 donated cases of MacKay’s favorite beer, Guinness Black Lager, are being sold at $3 per bottle. All sales will go to MacKay’s family.

From 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday (March 2), the restaurant is hosting a spaghetti dinner.

A $10 donation will get you spaghetti, garlic bread, dessert and a drink.

Pre-sale tickets are being sold at various locations.

The restaurant’s customers are also pitching in. One customer donated several pies, which were sliced and sold, with proceeds benefiting the family.

The pizzeria is also seeking volunteers to help with the spaghetti dinner.

Update: On March 11, the restaurant presented a check for $6,109 to the sheriff’s department on behalf of Deputy Alex Collins and the family of Detective Jeremiah MacKay. Remember, the fundraiser continues through the end of the month, with $2 from every medium and extra large pizza, as well as 100% of sales of Guinness Black Lager bottles, earmarked for them.
