Heading to LA/Ontario International Airport? You really ought to pack a lunch

Oh, remember back in February, when the Applebee’s in Terminal 2 at LA/Ontario International Airport shut down, “temporarily”?

Well, things haven’t gotten any better.

In fact, they’re worse.

Now, the T.G.I. Friday’s in Terminal 4 is no more.

That narrows down your food choices to these:

Terminal 2

  • Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf /Jake’s Bar
  • El Paseo Café & Bar
  • Sandwich shop (formerly Schlotzsky’s Deli)

Terminal 4

  • Carl’s Jr.
  • Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf/Jake’s Bar
  • Sandwich shop (formerly Schlotzsky’s Deli)
  • Round Table Pizza
  • El Paseo Café & Bar

The situation is exacerbated by the fact that none of the eateries in Terminal 2 are open past 5 p.m. and the ones in terminal 4 all close at 7 p.m. or earlier.

Add to that the fact that Round Table Pizza and both El Paseo Cafés are closed on weekends.

But wait…there is hope!

Vending machines will be available when the eateries are not.

Thank goodness!

It’s even more frustrating to hear that the new terminal at LAX has outlets of several trendy L.A.-area eateries, including Border Grill, 800 Degrees Pizza, ink.sack and Umami Burger.

Oh, wait, LAX even has a version of the I.E.’s own Klatch Coffee.

Sigh.

Good thing there’s an In-N-Out Burger right near the airport. You’re gonna need it.
