As I was glancing through the latest Rialto city administrator update (you can read it yourself here), something caught my attention.

A new shopping center, anchored by “Smart and Final Express” (likely a Smart & Final — Extra!) and a Dollar Tree, is also scheduled to have a “Hawaiian Ono” (Ono Hawaiian BBQ, perhaps?) and a drive-thru Dunkin’ Donuts!

That would bring the total number of Inland Empire locations to four.

The new center is planned for Foothill Boulevard and Cedar Avenue. We’re guessing the undeveloped southeast corner.

No time frame was given.

Also in the report, Aldi is actively looking for locations in the city, either along Riverside Avenue or Foothill Boulevard, and might end up on the northeast corner of Foothill Boulevard and Cactus Avenue on the site of the old Golden Embers.

Note to Aldi: There’s a perfectly good location on Riverside Avenue, just north of the 210 Freeway. It used to be a fresh & easy.
