Doo Dah float designer Dave Lovejoy unveils new sculpture

The official Occasional Pasadena Doo Dah Parade Outgoing Queen float designer Dave Lovejoy keeps busy throughout the year working on a variety of art projects. He maintains his own studio in the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles, as well as leads raku pottery classes at McGinty’s Gallery at the End of the World in Altadena (which is also the float’s sponsor).

Recently, Lovejoy spent three weeks working with sculptor Patrick Dougherty and three other assistants in creating this engaging work.
